Pro baseball's Doosan Bears advanced to the semi-playoffs by defeating the Kiwoom Heroes in the wild card game.
Doosan defeated Kiwoom 16-8 in the second leg of the 2021 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO Postseason Wild Card Decision held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.
Fernandes scored 3 hits and 5 RBIs, and Yang Seok-hwan recorded 3 hits and 4 RBIs, and he won 20 hits.
Doosan, who placed 4th in the regular league in a wild card match, lost 7-4 in the first game, but won the second game and advanced to the semi-playoffs (quasi-PO, 2 wins out of 3).
The 4th place team gets the advantage of one win, so even one win in a wildcard match of up to two matches will advance them to quasi-PO.
Doosan will play the first round of semi-PO against the third-placed LG Twins in the regular league at 6:30 pm on the day after (4th) at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.
LG and Doosan will clash in the semi-PO for the second year in a row following last year.
