There were two teams with a lot to fight for that met at Örjans Vall.

The home team Halmstad in desperate need of points to leave the qualifying place in the Allsvenskan and AIK needed a victory and three points to not fall behind in the even gold battle.

Already after just under 40 minutes, AIK was forced to their first substitution after Nicolas Stefanelli was injured and forced to go out with a wounded foot.

A few minutes later came the match's first, and only, goal.

39-year-old veteran Andreas Johansson managed, after a tangled situation, to put in 1-0 on a return from AIK goalkeeper Budimir Janosevic.

The goal was followed by big protests when the AIK players waved for offside but there they did not have the referee with them.

AIK struggled for a goal in the second half, among other things they had a dangerous corner in the 60th minute.

But despite the fact that it was almost eight minutes of extra time where AIK pressed Halmstad really, the guests did not manage to get a draw and Halmstad won 1-0.

- We have not won so much at home this year.

It feels good to give the fans this.

It is completely indescribable, says Malkolm Nilsson in Discovery +.
