The attacking duo Romelu Lukaku (ankle) and Timo Werner (thigh) injured themselves when Chelsea beat Malmö FF 4-0 at Stamford Bridge almost two weeks ago and are missing as expected in Tuesday's return meeting in group H in Malmö.

The duo is expected to be in play only after the national team break, which starts after next weekend.

Midfielders Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount also miss the away match.

Kovacic is still recovering from an injury and Mount fell ill at the weekend.

- This is not about covid-19.

But he is not healthy enough to train and not for the trip, says Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel at a digital press conference.

Since the 4-0 victory against Malmö, Chelsea have won 7-0 against Norwich and 3-0 against Newcastle in the Premier League.

In between, the London club beat Southampton in the league cup after penalties (1-1 after full time).

Malmö has three straight big losses in the group against Juventus (0-3), Zenit St. Petersburg (0-4) and Chelsea (0-4).

Juventus tops the group with a maximum of nine points, Chelsea stands at six points and Zenit has three points.
