On the eve of the start of the fourth day of the group stage of the Football Champions League, four teams already have their destiny in hand with a view to qualifying this week for the knockout stages: Liverpool , Bayern Munich, Juventus and Salzburg.

Juventus in search of confidence

It is the only team in this quartet to only need a draw this Tuesday, November 2 against Zenith Saint Petersburg to secure a place in the round of 16.

And yet it is the one that is the most in bad shape with two defeats in a row in the league and a very disappointing 9th place in Serie A, 16 points behind co-leaders Naples and Milan.

Barely at the weekend, the Old Lady makes up for the week since the start of the season with

three wins and no goals conceded

during the first three days of the group stage of the Champions League.

If a draw on Tuesday would secure them the European Top 16 for the eighth season in a row, Juve would be well advised to win against the Russian club before playing first place in the group on Chelsea's lawn on November 23.

Bayern Munich leave nothing but crumbs

There is even better than the course of Juventus so far: that of Bayern Munich,

with their three victories

, 0 goals conceded and 12 scored.

The best attack trampled his opponents, like Benfica, swept 4-0 in the first leg, and that the Bavarians will find this Tuesday at the Allianz Arena.

With another victory, the German champions will have their ticket to the round of 16 in their pockets.

To achieve this, they can count on Robert Lewandowski who will want to shine for his 100th Champions League match.

The Polish striker, third scorer in the history of the competition with 78 goals has already scored five in three games this season.

For this match, Bayern Munich also records the return of their coach Julian Nagelsmann, placed in solitary confinement for two weeks due to a Covid-19 infection.

The German technician has a full squad after the 5-0 humiliation against Mönchengladbach in the German Cup last week.

Liverpool want to stay on their cloud

Unlike Juventus and Bayern, the Reds have still not lost this season in all competitions.

Chelsea's runner-up in the Premier League because of four draws, including one conceded on Saturday against Brighton (2-2), Liverpool only experienced victory in C1 this season.

The one on the lawn of Atlético de Madrid (2-3) during the previous day allows Jürgen Klopp's men to approach this return phase very calmly.

Again against the Colchoneros this Wednesday at Anfield, Liverpool,

with a Mohamed Salah in excellent shape

, has the opportunity to validate his ticket for the round of 16, if successful.

A performance that would be remarkable in this Pool B which also features FC Porto and AC Milan.

Salzburg, the half-surprise

Like Liverpool, Red Bull Salzburg are still undefeated this season.

On the other hand, the Austrian champion did not win his three Champions League matches in Group G (2 wins, 1 draw).

But that does not prevent him from being one step away from the Top 16 on the eve of a trip to Wolfsburg (4th with 2 points).

If such a prospect may surprise, it is nonetheless logical in a very little raised pool where Sevilla FC and

the Lille French champions disappoint

.

Having finished third in their group twice in a row, RB Salzburg have never been so close to their first round of 16 in the Champions League.
