It seems that the Egyptian Al-Ahly club obtained an early achievement in the current season, after the name of its captain and international goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shennawy, was included among the 20 candidates to win the award for the best goalkeeper in the world for the year 2021, according to the official account of the International Federation of History and Statistics.
The list was topped by Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was recently crowned with the Italian national team in the European Nations Cup and the best player in it, and the goalkeeper of Denmark and Leicester City, Kasper Schmeichel.
