The UAE Professional League adopts an award for public attendance

The UAE Professional League held the first Extraordinary General Assembly meeting for the season 2021-2022, today, Saturday, through the remote visual communication system, during which the development of work mechanisms to upgrade the system was approved and discussed in accordance with the strategic plan of the Association 2020-2030.

During the meeting, a mechanism was approved for distributing the Association’s returns to the members of the General Assembly for the 2021-2022 sports season and the following seasons, according to a mechanism, through which incentive prizes will be distributed, including the public attendance award given to clubs according to the average audience attendance in the ADNOC Professional League competition.

The Asian Participation Award will also be awarded as part of the incentive awards allocated to motivate clubs to achieve outstanding results in foreign participation and to represent the country in an honorable manner.

The meeting was chaired by Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, President of the Professional League, in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of the Association, and representatives of professional clubs.

Al-Junaibi delivered a welcome speech in which he thanked the wise leadership, which gives the nation, the citizen and everyone who lives in the UAE a great priority, and supports all sectors, including sports, which witness great interest that raises enthusiasm, builds generations and makes wishes.

Al-Junaibi stressed that the UAE Professional League and the professional clubs are walking together on the path of success from year to year, noting the progress in the professional ladder, with the aspiration to move forward with professionals around the world.

During the meeting, the developments of the "League Development Project", organized by the UAE Professional League, were presented with the aim of improving the experience of the mass attendance through three axes: stadiums, fans, and competitions.

The stadiums axis is based on developing stadiums and providing services that give fans an enjoyable atmosphere, and modernizing stadiums to host international events, which would increase the long-term public attendance, and optimal use of match days and outside.

In the audience axis, work is being done to improve public interaction, engage and attract them, in the belief of the association in the importance of the masses by providing an enjoyable and easy attendance experience by upgrading various services and communication mechanisms with them in order to reach stands full of spirit, enthusiasm and happiness, and the launch of the loyalty program.

As for the competitions axis, it aims to develop competitions and make them more interesting from a technical and commercial point of view, and to improve the competitive balance between clubs, in order to achieve goals, most notably raising viewership rates and increasing revenues through commercial and media rights.
