Last year, 21-year-old Linus Öberg was hot and scored 13 goals in the regular season and two in the playoffs.

It was also the best season in Örebroklubben's history with a semi-final place where Växjö was pressed for a decisive match.

Linus Öberg and his Närkegäng, on the other hand, have had a rather sluggish start this season - but still been difficult to beat at home.

And on Saturday night, the sixth straight home victory came against the reigning champions in an almost sold out and boiling Behrn arena.

"Have a hell of a cold"

After a quarter, free Örebro forward Emil Larsson was able to send in the first goal from the castle in powerplay.

Larsson thus scored his fifth goal of the season, of which his third in numerical superiority.

- (Robert) Leino has a hell of a cold and sees that I'm free in the middle.

It felt really nice to see when it went in, Larsson said in C More after the first period.

- It is a fairly even period, I think.

They have some locations and we have some locations, he added.

Pretty immediately in the second period, Emil Forslund equalized in boxplay when he went free and lifted a backhand into the net.

"Sit deep inside for me"

So at the end of the period, Linus Öberg stepped forward and made sure that Örebro took the lead again when he ice-coldly lifted 2-1 into the net behind goalkeeper Adam Åhman.

And it was chain friend Robin Kovacs who, with a brilliant performance from his own blue, arranged for Öberg to score his first goal of the season.

- Kovacs sends me a nice "sandwich".

Then I push it there, very nice, said Örebro goal scorer Linus Öberg after the second period.

A long-awaited goal for Öberg.

- You could say that.

It's been a long time coming for me.

It's nice to break this trend now.

With three seconds left of regular time, Örebro's center Jani Lajunen wallowed in the final result 3–1 in an empty cage.
