After a first sale last year which totaled more than 300,000 euros, the photo service of the newspaper

L'Equipe

is auctioning 190 outstanding photos of the Olympic Games, captured during the past century.

Since last year, the newspaper has undertaken to enhance its immense photo archive collection, with more than 12 million photos, by offering photos, some of them unpublished, for sale.

Among the images, exhibited on October 27 and 28, sports fans will find the swimmer Johnny Weissmuller at the Paris Games in 1924, the lifted point of Lee Evans in Mexico City in 1968, the performances of Jean-Claude Killy at the Winter Games of Grenoble in 1968, the records of the riders Carl Lewis and Usain Bolt or the exploits of the Blues in Tokyo in 2021. The sale will take place at the Hotel Drouot, in Paris, this Friday, October 29 at 2 pm, or online.

  • The sale is preceded by two days of exhibition at the Hotel Drouot, on October 27 and 28, 2021.
