It started badly for Malmö on Tuesday night and it ended even worse.

Already after 70 seconds, Jonathan Johnsson gave Skellefteå the lead when he coolly shot in a return.

Carl Persson admittedly equalized for Malmö shortly afterwards with the team's first shot, but Skellefteå did not take long to respond.

Even before half the period was over, Oscar Möller had given Skellefteå the lead again and Tom Kühnackl extended.

It was the NHL-merited German's first goal of the season.

Malmö played something and Gustaf Lindvall had to tear a lot between Skellefteå's posts.

But the Västerbottens have had SHL's best goalkeeping game this season and Lindvall continued on the beaten path by nailing the rest of the match.

At the same time, Skellefteå received dividends offensively.

Jayce Hawryluk came free with Oscar Alsenfelt in the middle period and splashed in 4-1 and in the third period, 18-year-old Elias Stenman extended Skellefteå's lead with his first SHL goal.

Skellefteå eventually won 6-1 after Jonathan Pudas determined the final result.

The victory takes Skellefteå up to second place in the table of 27 points, one point behind league leader Frölunda.

- There is no excuse.

We are far too bad today simply, says Adam Ollas Mattsson.
