Paris Saint-Germain announced that it is awaiting the return of Sergio Ramos to the team's training next week after a period of absence due to injury, while Marco Verratti is expected to be absent from the stadiums for about a month.

Ramos joined Saint-Germain on a free transfer from Real Madrid before the start of this season, after spending 16 years with the royal team.

Ramos was among a group of notable deals concluded by Saint-Germain in the transfer market, as the team also included Argentine star Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Giorgenio Wijnaldum and Ashraf Hakimi.

But Ramos did not make his first appearance with Saint-Germain so far, after he suffered a calf injury (calf muscle) at the end of July, after he was absent from the field for periods of last season due to fitness problems and a calf problem as well.

Saint-Germain was careful about Ramos returning to training in order to avoid aggravating his injury, but it seems that he is close to making his first appearance.

"Sergio Ramos' recovery programme, coordinated by the medical staff, is developing as planned," Saint-Germain said on its website.

He added, "It is expected that he will be able to start training with the rest of the team's players next week."

As for Verratti, it is likely that he will be absent for a while due to a groin injury, and the club expects the recovery to take about a month.

Thus, Italian international Verratti will miss the team's next five matches in all competitions, including its Champions League matches against Leipzig and Manchester City.

The club also revealed that there are doubts about the participation of Kylian Mbappe in the match scheduled against Lille next Friday, due to a health problem, and his condition will be evaluated during the next two days.
