The move to the NHL and Detroit has been painless for Lucas Raymond.

The 19-year-old forward has scored seven points in six games and in tonight's game against Chicago he scored a hat trick.

Raymond, who has already done two JVMs, had been given in this year's squad.

This can also be said for William Eklund and Alexander Holtz, who also took the step to North America this autumn.

- It will simply be that it will be decided where they play in early December.

If they are up in the NHL or very close, there is a risk that you will not get them.

If you look at Lucas Raymond's start to the season, he is probably quite excluded.

We will see, we usually get in touch with those clubs at the turn of the month November-December and ask if there is an interest in releasing them, says Tomas Montén.

Several factors come into play

William Eklund has also had the chance in the NHL directly where there have been three points in four games for San Jose.

In Holtz's case, it has been an AHL game, with three goals in as many matches as the result.

Is there a greater chance that Holtz, who has started in the AHL, can become available?

- It is difficult to predict.

"Alex" has started very, very well and may be named.

But historically, clubs have had a greater interest in releasing players if they are in the AHL.

They see JVM as a good experience, says Montén.

He continues:

- Then you should remember that Raymond and Holtz have played two JVM and it may be in the barrel a little grand, versus Eklund who has not done a JVM when he became ill last year.

It can also be something that NHL clubs weigh in, depending on what experience they think JVM provides.

Want to find a core

On Monday, Montén released the squad to the preparatory camp in Ängelholm on November 12-14, where Sweden will face the Czech Republic, Finland and Russia.

- There are probably about ten who have been with a lot during the journey.

Hope we land when we leave Ängelholm that we have 10, 12, maybe 14 pieces that we feel safe with.

That's what it's about, says Montén.

It is noteworthy that Växjö's forward Victor Stjernborg would have been taken out if an injury had not stopped him.

Two players born in 2004 are involved, Djurgården's Liam Öhgren and Jonathan Lekkerimäki.

- We feel that there are two players who have been very hot during the autumn and there are a lot of openings on the forward side.

This is probably where we above all feel that we want to look at some extra old men, says Montén.
