Bashir Abdi won the Rotterdam marathon in a European record and a course record on Sunday.

The Belgian raced to victory in a time of 2:03.35.

The course record was 2:04.11, run by Kenyan Marius Kipserum in 2019. Until Sunday, that was also the last edition of the Rotterdam marathon, which was canceled in April 2020 due to the corona pandemic and could not take place last spring.
