The ink had barely dried on the new contract, before John Nyberg was noted for an assist point in Linköping against his old team.

Nyberg showed physical strength in a duel, ran free with a puck in the offensive zone and served Markus Ljungh who in principle had an open position with the goalkeeper and could put 1-0 to Linköping.

- I do not really know how that pass came about.

I'm not directly known for making those passes so it was fun.

Playing against my old team like this ... it has been intense, says Nyberg in the interview with C More.

In the third period, the home team extended the lead, when LHC's American veteran Broc Little spun away the Brynäs defense and struck with a hard shot unattainable for a shady Veini Vehviläinen in Brynäsburen.

Max Lindroth put the nail in the coffin in the final stage of the match when he put 3-0 to Linköping in an empty net.

It was during Friday that Gävlelaget announced that they were breaking the contract prematurely with John Nyberg.

Only half an hour later, he was presented in Linköping - with the knowledge that the team would meet a day later.
