• On September 14, Arnaud Lasserre was violently assaulted in front of the Pierre -Mauroy stadium after the Lille-Wolfsburg match.

  • Falling into a coma, the 35-year-old father is gradually woken up in the Lille hospital center.

  • A big mobilization was born in regional football to support the family of this Losc supporter.

The Champions League will never have the same taste for Yannick Lasserre. While the LOSC is preparing to challenge Seville on Wednesday evening (9 p.m.) at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, the biggest European competition brings back very bad memories to this 46-year-old Northerner. Because the life of his family changed last September 14 at the end of Lille-Wolfsburg (0-0), the northern club's first match in the competition. At the end of the meeting, Arnaud, his 35-year-old brother, and two of his friends go to have a drink at the Factory, a bar adjacent to the stadium. But the football night with friends turns into a nightmare.

“My brother and his friends sat next to a group pestering a waitress at the bar.

A girl then came to insult one of the members of the group.

The tone rose, other guys arrived and then started typing one of my brother's two friends who had nothing to do with the story.

They got five on it.

My brother undoubtedly tried to defend him and they also attacked him, ”says Yannick Lasserre.

A family turned upside down by events

Falling heavily to the ground and victim of several cerebral edemas, Arnaud Lasserre was evacuated directly to the Lille hospital center where he fell into a coma. For ten days, this father of three children has been gradually woken up at the CHU but his neurological consequences are still unknown. In the meantime, his family is going through complicated times. “It's been 35 days and I'm starting to get on edge. It is complicated. You have to manage parents and children. His youngest, who is not yet three years old, has not seen his father for a month. It's not simple. We suffer this damage by ricochet ", continues the brother of the victim.

Fortunately, in this complicated period, Arnaud Lasserre's family could count on the support and generosity of FC Santes where the victim played and coached youth teams.

Many clubs in the metropolis have also mobilized to help the family and former Losc players such as Benjamin Pavard, Renato Civelli, Pascal Cygan or even Fernando d'Amico have sent messages of support or traveled on October 9 to Health for a day of support organized at the club.

The survey would focus on the Lille identity community

After a few days of silence, the Losc also ended up manifesting itself through a phone call from Olivier Létang, the club president, to Yannick Lasserre.

“He listened to me a lot and was distraught when we spoke.

He sent me a message a few days later to get news from Arnaud ”

Disgusted with football since his brother's assault, Yannick, a Losc subscriber for several years, no longer wants to set foot in the stadium.

He is now waiting for those responsible to be identified.

If it is not yet completed, the investigation would focus on the Lille identity community.

While waiting for clarification, a whole family remains hanging at the bedside of Arnaud, a Lille supporter who had the misfortune of being in the wrong place one day.
