Sean Crocker, Nicolai Hojgaard, Min Woo Lee and Wilco Nienaber were the players faced with the difficult task.
The attempt to beat the old record of 27.88 seconds took place on the fourth hole of the classic Valderrama in Spain.
After two hours of repeated failures, the South African Wilco got Nienaber to a perfect starting shot and they finally got to the perfect hole.
But if the time were enough, after a nervous wait, the message came from the inspector.
