Set a date for the start of Benzema's trial. The Real Madrid star is threatened with "5 years in prison"

The “Valbuena” case has returned to haunt the French star and Real Madrid sniper, Karim Benzema, after the date for the start of the trial in which the player has been followed for years has been set, for his participation in the case of blackmailing his former colleague in the French national team, Matthew Valbuena, through a “sex tape.” ".

If proven guilty of the case, Benzema will face a five-year prison sentence and a fine of up to 75,000 euros.

And the Spanish newspaper “Marca” said today that a court in Versailles, France, decided to start arguments tomorrow, hours after Benzema and Real Madrid met against Shakhtar of Ukraine in the Champions League today.

Benzema's lawyers have sought to remove him from the case that has been under investigation since 2015, denying any connection to the sex tape, and that the matter was "just a misunderstanding".

Benzema had previously denied knowing the "sex tape", and said that he had nothing to do with the involvement of a friend in the case, and that when he spoke to Valbuena he was in good faith, based on what he heard, and not that he had anything to do with blackmail.

He previously said he only sought to warn Valbuena, but was dragged into the case by mistake.
