Rika Kihira, a figure skating player, will miss the Grand Prix Series Canada tournament, which will start on October 29, due to an injury to her right ankle.

This was announced by the Japan Skating Federation on the 19th.

Kihira is the ace of Japanese women who has won the Grand Prix Final in 2018, where the world's top players participate, and has won the All Japan Championship for the second time in a row.

Kihira, who is aiming to win a medal at the Beijing Olympics next year, was scheduled to participate in the Grand Prix Series Canada tournament, which will start on October 29, as the first race of the season.

According to the Japan Skating Federation, he decided to miss because the cartilage damage on his right ankle, which he had injured at the end of last season, has not completely healed.

Kihira commented, "I will concentrate on treatment now without rushing so that I can show you good performances."

Kihira has also entered the NHK Trophy next month.
