Businessman pleads guilty to Argentine footballer Sala's plane crash

British businessman David Henderson, 66, has pleaded guilty to the charges related to the plane crash that killed soccer player Emiliano Sala in 2019. He admitted to committing an illegal act, according to the British news agency (PA Media), when it came to renting the plane. Without regard to safety rules and applicable licenses, he appointed pilot David Ibbotson to fly the plane at the last minute, even though his pilot's license expired a year ago.

Henderson pleaded guilty to the charges after he requested to appear in court yesterday, on the eve of his trial at Cardiff Crown Court.

Henderson is appearing in court after being accused of endangering the safety of the plane.

A jury of seven men and five women was chosen to hear the case after initially asserting that they were not Cardiff City fans or used to attend football matches regularly.

It is noteworthy that the plane carrying Argentine player Sala, 28, to Wales from France, after he signed to join Cardiff, disappeared from radar screens while crossing the English Channel on January 21, 2019. Cardiff City, who was competing in the English Premier League, was , signed Sala, the French club Nantes, for 15 million pounds (19 million dollars), in a record deal for the Welsh club.
