Officially.. the collective resignation of the Syrian Federation after the loss from Lebanon

Today, Monday, the members of the General Assembly of the Extraordinary Conference of the Syrian Football Association agreed to accept the resignation of the president and members of the Syrian Football Association and to form a temporary committee to manage it.

The temporary committee to run the affairs of the union for a period of three to six months until a new union was elected included: Tawfiq Sarhan as president, and the members: Ahmed Qutrash, Yasser Lababidi, Abdel Hamid Al-Khatib and Nabil Al-Sibai.

The Syrian Federation headed by Hatem Al-Ghayeb submitted a collective resignation after the Syrian team lost 2-3 to its Lebanese counterpart last Tuesday in Amman in the fourth round of the first Asian group competitions from the decisive third round qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

The Syrian team occupies the last sixth place in the group with one point, compared to 10 points for the leaders Iran, 8 points for South Korea, 5 points for Lebanon, and 3 each for the Emirates and Iraq.
