Neymar will miss Saint-Germain.. the player's safety is the priority

Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino said that Brazilian striker Neymar will miss the Champions League match against RB Leipzig on Tuesday after suffering an injury during the international period.

Neymar, 29, was among a group of players who missed Saint-Germain's 2-1 win over Angers in Ligue 1 on Friday due to his association with the World Cup qualifiers.

"The priority is always the safety of the player and Neymar has a small problem that we hope to get rid of in a few days and be back in the squad as soon as possible," Pochettino told a news conference on Monday.

The French club added in a statement, "Neymar suffers from some pain in the adductor muscle and will undergo treatment in the coming days before returning to full training."

The club also indicated that midfielder Leandro Paredes and defender Sergio Ramos were excluded from Tuesday's match due to injury.

Saint-Germain leads Group A with four points from two matches, while Leipzig is bottom of the standings without a score.
