Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo earned an astronomical salary at Manchester United, the most ever during his football career, and may be the highest among sports stars in the world as well.
The Spanish newspaper "MARCA" reported that Ronaldo's salary, 36, amounts to 1.1 million euros per week, and with the expiration of his contract on June 30, 2022, he will have received 58.5 million euros this season only.
The newspaper said that Ronaldo's success on the field made him ranked 12th in the list of the richest athletes around the world in 2021, with a net worth estimated at 430 million euros.
Only Argentine star Lionel Messi, whose net worth is estimated at 517 million euros in 2021, is preceded by Ronaldo in the list of the richest among football stars.
