Sweden is having the least tough time in the team WC (speedway of nations) in Manchester.

It started with the squad getting a rebid from the biggest star Fredrik Lindgren the week before the final.

And during the first day of the final, both Swedish drivers Pontus Aspgren and Jacob Thorssell crashed - in the same heat.

The heat against Australia.

And now it is clear that both will miss Sunday's decisive day two.

Jacob Thorssell first announced on social media that he had sustained a hard blow to the head in Saturday's crash and is starting from the final.

Pontus Aspgren later confirmed to SVT that he will not drive again this season after the same crash.

- Ordinary X-rays were taken yesterday and then it was seen that the AC joint (in the shoulder) was broken.

I have to take pictures with magnetic resonance imaging in Sweden later and see if there is any ligament or similar clutter, Aspgren informs SVT Sport.

Thus, only the junior Philip Hellström Bängs remains in the Swedish team - and as it looks at the moment, he seems to be allowed to run the remaining heat as the only Swede.

- Things like this can happen, but it feels pretty empty right now.

It's so incredibly boring.

We have put so much hard work into this, and worked hard on site, says Swedish national team captain Morgan Andersson in a press release
