The Dubai Sports Council announced the organization of the "Dubai Ice Show" tournament, as part of the country's celebrations of the "Fiftieth Year", and the hosting of "Expo 2020 Dubai", which will witness the summit match of the World Ice Hockey League, which includes the two strongest teams in the "Continental Hockey League" championship, which It will be held for the first time in Dubai, in addition to organizing several events for the ice show, including the global review (The Sleeping Princess), from the third to the fifth of next December, at the Coca-Cola Arena.
Yesterday, during a press conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed to organize this event between the Dubai Sports Council and the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, the Continental World Hockey League, and HC Avangard Omsk Ice Hockey Club.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Saeed Hareb, the CEO of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, Ahmed Al Khaja, the President of the Continental Hockey League, Alexei Morzov, and the President of HC Avangard, Alexander Krylov.
Saeed Hareb said, "The organization of the activities of (Dubai Ice Show) will coincide with the celebrations of the National Day and (the fiftieth year), which represents a great value for a period full of achievements drawn by the wise leadership and implemented by the loyal people of the country, and the beginning of a future stage on the same approach, it will be a bus with greater accomplishments.
He added: “We are working in the Dubai Sports Council to ensure that this year is full of major sporting events, commensurate with the value of this event, and a positive indication of the growth and development that the sports sector in general, and the sporting events organization sector in particular, will witness. various sectors to promote investment in the field of spreading and developing snow sports, and organizing major international events for these sports in Dubai.”
He added: "We are pleased that Dubai will host this global event, which is being held here for the first time, and includes the most prominent match in the Continental Ice Hockey League, in which the two strongest teams in this world league participate, and we are pleased today to launch a new initiative that will contribute to the dissemination and development of ice hockey in the country. And we will make sure that this event is organized annually in Dubai, to be one of the most prominent sporting events on our annual agenda, which contributes to promoting diversity in the organization of sporting events, to provide an opportunity for all segments of society of all nationalities living in Dubai, to follow and practice the sports they prefer.” .
