Ronald Koeman does not want to answer any more questions about his future at FC Barcelona for the time being.

The Dutchman is no longer concerned about his position after chairman Joan Laporta expressed his confidence in the trainer.

"I don't want to talk about the past anymore," Koeman said on Saturday during his press conference in the run-up to the home game against Valencia.

"It's not important anymore. Everyone has good times and more difficult times."

"I've gotten used to people talking about my position. I don't worry about it anymore. It's not the first time either, because last year the coach was also talked about. The chairman has supported me and things made clear."

Just before the lost top match against Atlético Madrid two weeks ago, chairman Laporta said that Koeman would not be fired at FC Barcelona anyway.

The president did not say how long the Dutchman still enjoys the confidence of the club management.

'Barça' lost the first two group matches in the Champions League and is in a disappointing ninth place in La Liga.

"Of course every coach has to keep winning games to be able to continue," said Koeman.

"But now I mainly want to put energy into improving our game and focus on things that I can influence. That is much more important than my feeling. I try to do the best for the club."

'Can compete for championship'

A boost for Koeman in the run-up to Sunday's league game against Valencia is that Sergio Aguero has recovered from a lingering calf injury.

Due to the injury, the Argentine attacker is still waiting for his debut for FC Barcelona.

Ousmane Dembélé is also on his way back.

"Little by little we get the team we want", Koeman also sees.

"We have been unlucky with injuries, because almost all attackers were injured. But if everyone has recovered, we can compete for the championship."

Koeman will return to the bench at FC Barcelona on Sunday against Valencia (kick-off 9 p.m.) after he had to watch two competition matches from the stands due to a suspension.

The Dutchman was suspended by the Spanish federation due to comments on the arbitration.

An important week awaits Koeman.

After the duel with Valencia, a confrontation with Dynamo Kiev will follow next Wednesday in the Champions League, after which the Clásico against Real Madrid is on the program next Saturday.
