An unlikely lucky charm. After his incredible jaunt in the Bordeaux tramway on October 31, 2013, Serge the lama had become a real star on social networks. The circus animal, which had been stolen by five young Bordeaux somewhat tipsy, had become very courted that year. Including by the Girondins de Bordeaux club, which had decided to make him its muse, on the occasion of the reception of FC Nantes, during the 2013-2014 Ligue 1 season.

On November 10, 2013, the lama therefore performed a lap of honor at the Chaban-Delmas stadium, alongside his trainer, John Beautour, and the president of the Girondin club, Jean-Louis Triaud. Serge le lama avait donc très bien réussi aux Canaris, même si ces derniers avaient terminé derrière Bordeaux à la fin de la saison (13e contre 7e). Depuis cette large victoire en 2013, le FC Nantes ne s’est plus jamais imposé à Bordeaux en championnat. « Je ne connaissais pas cette anecdote », s’amuse le patron du cirque.

Ce dimanche, les Girondins de Bordeaux reçoivent le FC Nantes à l’occasion de la 10e journée du championnat. Ils fêtent aussi les 140 ans du club, avec des festivités au programme. Serge le lama ne sera pas de la partie : « Il est malheureusement mort de vieillesse » lors de l’été 2020, indique son éleveur.
