Athletes stressed that the problem of the results of the national football team, and its negative results in the decisive role of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, does not lie with Dutch coach Van Marwijk alone, but in the entire system, foremost of which is poor planning and poor preparation of the team for these qualifiers, considering that the current qualifiers The team that is playing is the easiest, as it faces in its group teams that do not even have a regular league, such as Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, as well as the teams of Iran and South Korea, who do not have the previous strength known for them, at the same time holding the National Teams Committee responsible for the negative results of the team so far in the qualifiers World Cup.

They told Al-Emarat Al-Youm: "The Football Association and the National Teams Committee must work to correct the team's path before it is too late, because the team's chance to qualify for the World Cup, although it has become difficult and complicated, is still there and there are 18 points on the field, but it needs to fight." And great efforts, whether at the level of the coach, the players, the national teams committee and the Football Association.”

The national team fell from third to fourth place with only three points, which it won with a draw against Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, and a loss against Iran.

The Emirati sports street prevailed in a state of anger and resentment over the team's results in the qualifiers, and its chance of competing for the World Cup qualification ticket was diminished if it continued with the same modest performance that appeared in these qualifiers.

A former member of the Football Association Board of Directors, technical analyst Mohamed Matar Ghorab, stressed that the problem of the team starts with the administration, which was not able to create a success environment for the team, whether in terms of preparation camps or gatherings, or in terms of influencing the coach.

Ghorab said: "Everyone is now complaining about the coach, and the most important question is who chose him to coach the national team, so the whole issue is an administrative aspect."

Ghorab considered that "the process of selecting players is a matter for the coach and his technical view in this regard, but what is surprising is the coach's changes in overtime," noting that the coach's criteria for selecting players can differ from their standards as analysts.

He explained, "The league competition itself does not give the coach many choices in terms of players, because there are six foreign players on the field who make up the strongest percentage in each team."

And about the solutions that can be offered regarding the team, Ghorab continued: “All aspects must be reviewed in numbers, and even the departure of Marvik, if it happens, it will not solve the problem, because the problem is in the system itself, not in a person.”

For his part, the former national football team coach, Dr. Abdullah Misfer, confirmed that there are a number of factors that put the team in this position in the qualifiers, and said: “The work is supposed to be integrated between management, a technical committee and a technical committee, and in discussing a program and discussing work until discussing the team’s list. without interfering with the coach’s technical choices,” adding that “the discussion is sometimes about giving an idea or communicating an idea, especially since the foreign coach is far from what is going on in the arena, and does not know the importance of matches and does not know the importance of waiting every four years in order to compete for a ticket.” Qualification for the World Cup,” considering that “there is no communication between the coach and the clubs, as well as with the players, the technical management in the Football Association, the technical departments in the clubs and the technical devices.”

Misfer explained, "The appreciation of the importance of matches and the sense of the value of qualifying for the World Cup varies between a foreign coach and another who lives in the country, or a citizen, because for a foreign coach it is just a job, but for a citizen it is a dream and a wish for every person."

He added: "These things are all evidence that the coach is far from reality, and the problem of foreign coaches is that they are far from loving the country and sacrificing for the country and being jealous of it, and this matter unfortunately does not exist for foreign coaches, whatever their ambitions."

Misfir considered that the current qualifiers that the team is playing are the easiest qualifiers for the UAE team from his point of view, given that there are three teams in the group that play abroad, namely Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, in addition to that their leagues are suspended, and the current Iranian team is the weakest team in the history of Iranian football , While the South Korean team is not as strong as the previous one, so the preparation of the team was very weak and not commensurate with the importance of these qualifiers, as he put it.

In turn, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, Dr. Salim Al Shamsi, confirmed that "the problem of the team starts first with the National Teams Committee in the Football Association, then with the players, and the coach comes in third place."

"The bulk of the responsibility is borne by the National Teams and Players Committee," he added.

Al Shamsi pointed out that "in the event that there is a technical or administrative shortcoming, the players can make up for this shortcoming with a fighting spirit and strong performance, as they represent their homeland."

Salim Al Shamsi pointed out that “the National Teams Committee is the one who sets the plans for the team, and the coach, in turn, implements them without leaving the whole decision in the hands of the coach.”

He continued, "Unfortunately, the work has turned upside down. We give the coach the thread and the stitches."

Al-Shamsi stressed that, "Unfortunately, the chances of the team in the competition have become very difficult, because the matter is no longer in the hands of the team, but rather needs the help of others."

• The league does not give the coach many choices in terms of players.

• Al-Abyad dropped from third to fourth place, with only three points.
