This morning, at 11:30, the Dubai Sports Council will hold a ceremony honoring the winners of the eighth session of the Dubai Model for Sports Excellence for the sports seasons (2018/2019) and (2019/2020), which is organized by the Council under the slogan “Without Ambition. Borders”, in the Jewel Hall in the “Souk Madinat Jumeirah” hotel in Dubai.

The council confirmed in a press statement that during the ceremony, a group of pioneers of sports work in Dubai clubs who contributed to the consolidation of the rules of sports work and the industry of its achievements and the graduation of generations of athletes who served the country will be honored.

The names of the winners in the individual category will be announced and honored, and they are: Best Player of People of Determination in Team Games, Best Player of People of Determination in Solo Games, Best Player in Team Games, Best Female Player in Solo Games, Best Player in Solo Games, Best Player in soccer.

The winners will be announced in the Season Achievement category, which includes: Best Manager, Best Player, Best Coach, Best Institution.

The winners of the institutional categories will also be announced during the ceremony: the award for the best initiative in (confronting the pandemic), the award for the best football company games sector in institutional efficiency, the award for the best quality club, the award for the best sector/company for sports, the best award for Football company.

The Dubai Council continues to organize this event in order to develop the administrative and technical work in the clubs and football companies under the umbrella of the Council, and to motivate the boards of directors to excel in work, innovate the means and launch initiatives that enhance the results of the clubs and develop their impact on society in general and the athletes category in particular.

The Council had received more than 100 files that were nominated in the categories of the eighth session of the "Dubai Model for Sports Excellence", in which athletes, clubs and football companies are evaluated, and those with the highest ratings are selected to be honored, along with a selection of sports leaders.

The Dubai Sports Excellence Model was adopted as a basis for evaluating the institutions that fall within the decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, regarding subjecting government sports institutions to the supervision of the Dubai Sports Council, as the model took into account the difference in The nature of the work of clubs, sports companies and quality clubs in a way that guarantees justice in the evaluation, and categories have been included to evaluate and honor athletes of all categories and in all sports in order to support and motivate athletes in the Emirate of Dubai to achieve outstanding sports achievements, and shed light on them to be an example for athletes to follow.

The sports excellence model includes seven main criteria: sports achievements, institutional efficiency, integrated care for talents, sports facilities, community activities, innovation, sportsmanship, and a weight has been set for each criterion by which the final result of each club or football company is determined.
