Basketball Bundesliga team Alba Berlin celebrated its first win of the season in the Euroleague.

On Tuesday evening, the weakened Berliners won thanks to a strong second half against the Turkish top club Fenerbahce Istanbul with 84:70 (27:35).

For Alba it was the first victory in the third game of the premier class in front of 6,176 spectators.

The best throwers from Berlin were Oscar da Silva with 22 and Maodo Lo with 21 points.

Coach Israel Gonzalez still had to make do with the injured quartet Johannes Thiemann, Ben Lammers, Christ Koumadje and Marcus Eriksson.

Alba was playing again without a real center.

And the numerous Fenerbahce supporters also dominated the game in the audience.

The favorite from Istanbul had a hard time at the beginning.

Alba defended very enthusiastically and did not allow much, in the middle of the first quarter was even able to take a short lead with 13:11 for the first time.

But most of the Germans found it very difficult to attack, found no throwing rhythm and awarded many easy throws.

So the Turks were able to gradually break away.

Shortly before the break it was double-digit for the first time (25:35).

Bayern are waiting for their first victory

The Berliners then came out of the dressing room with verve and took the lead back after a 15-2 run.

Alba was now much more effective offensively and remained vigilant defensively.

Almost six minutes before the end, the lead was double-digit for the first time (69:58).

And Alba couldn’t let that go until the end.

Even after three match days in the Euroleague, the basketball professionals of FC Bayern Munich are waiting for their first victory.

At the Russian club Unics Kazan, the German championship runner-up lost 70:73 (37:26).

Decisive for the defeat was a 0-13 run in the fourth quarter.

The best throwers from Munich were Darrun Hilliard (17 points) and Corey Walden (16).

The Munich team started the game in a more controlled manner than the team from Kazan: After 8:20 minutes, the hosts had scored as many points as they had lost the ball: seven each.

Bayern built a 19:12 lead after the first quarter to 37:26 by halftime.

After the break, however, the Munich team lost their rhythm.

Before the fourth quarter Kazan had reduced their deficit to five points, 45 seconds later the home side took the lead.

Kazan now played like a changed player, the former NBA pro Isaiah Canaan was unstoppable.

A 13-0 run brought the hosts onto the road to victory.

The guests reduced a twelve-point deficit three and a half minutes before the end to three points, but ultimately the catch-up came too late.

The Munich team will continue with another away game in Russia this Thursday.

Then FC Bayern will make a guest appearance at Zenit St. Petersburg.
