At the Tokyo Olympics, the Japanese team won a record 58 medals, including 27 gold medals.

On the 12th, JOC held an award ceremony in Tokyo to honor medalists, and Yukiko Ueno, who won the softball championship since the Beijing tournament, and Mima Ito, who won the first gold medal as a Japanese player in table tennis in mixed doubles. 41 people including players attended.



At the ceremony, on behalf of the athletes, skateboarder Kabuki Nishiya, who won the gold medal, wrestling the silver medal, Kenichiro Fumita, boxing the bronze medal, and Tsukimi Namiki took the stage, and JOC Chairman Yasuhiro Yamashita handed a certificate. I did.



The special awards for the Olympic medalists began in the winter of 1992 at the Albertville Games, and now gold medalists receive a reward of 5 million yen, silver medalists receive a reward of 2 million yen, and bronze medalists receive a reward of 1 million yen.
