France defeated Spain to become the second champion of the UEFA Nations League.

France won the 2020-2021 UEFA Nations League final at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy early this morning (11th) with a winning goal from Kylian Mbappe in the 35th minute of the second half, 2-1 over Spain.

France conceded an opening goal to Mikel Oyarzabal in the 19th minute of the second half, and Karim Benzema equalized with an equalizer two minutes later.

France, the 2018 World Cup winner, became the second country to win the tournament, after Portugal, who became the first champion in 2019.

France scored three goals in the second half only in the semi-finals to beat Belgium 3-2, and Spain advanced to the final by 2-1 defeating Italy, which had been unbeaten in 37 matches in A Match.

France took a disappointment in the 19th minute of the second half when Tello Hernandez's shot hit the crossbar after receiving a pass from Benzema.

Spain, who swept the chest, immediately counterattacked and opened the French goal.

After receiving a penetration pass from Sergio Busquets, Oyarzabal overcame the fight and bounced off the net with a left-footed shot from the left side of the goal area.

Spain's lead did not last long.

In the 21st minute of the second half, Benzema, who received the ball from Mbappe, took a right-footed kick from the left corner of the penalty area and put it into the corner of the goal to turn the game around.

In the 35th minute of the second half, Theo Hernandez's pass was connected to Mbappe, who dug into the space behind the Spanish defense, and Mbappe scored a comeback goal with a left-footed shot from the left side of the goal area.

Spain's offensive offensive continued, but France kept the lead thanks to goalkeeper Hugo Loris' save.

Benzema was voted the best player of the match.

Earlier, in the 3rd place match at Juventus Stadium in Turin, Italy, Italy beat Belgium 2-1.

Italy took the lead in the first minute of the second half with a goal from Niccolo Barella and a penalty goal from Domenico Berardi in the 20th minute.

Belgium had Charles Duketellar's save goal in the 41st minute of the second half, but they couldn't pursue it any further.
