Dembele and Aguero return to Barcelona attack

Barcelona's struggling attack got a much-needed boost on Monday with strikers Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero returning to training after a long period of absence with injury.

Frenchman Dembele participated in training for the first time since undergoing surgery last June after injuring his right knee during the match against Hungary in the European Championship 2020.

Aguero, who joined Barcelona on a free transfer in the last transfer period after ten years with Manchester City and has not participated in any match with the Catalan club so far, returned to training for the first time since he injured his calf in a pre-season training session on the eighth of last.

The two players participated in part of the training session, according to Barcelona's account on Twitter, but they still need to obtain the approval of the medical staff before joining the squad of Dutch coach Ronald Koeman.

Barcelona will host Valencia on Sunday in the Spanish First Division, as the team is looking to revive its career after winning one match between the last six in all competitions and failing to score in four of them.

And then it will host Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on October 20, after losing the first two matches in the group stage for the first time ever, while on Sunday it will host its arch-rival Real Madrid, who leads the league standings.
