Courtois, the "FIFA" and "UEFA" strikers: They only care about their pockets... When will we rest?

Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois criticized the International Federation (FIFA) and the European Football Association (UEFA) for the way they deal with the interests of players, in light of the number of matches that were included in the competition schedule, and said: “We are not robots! The matches are getting more and more, less comfort for us and no one cares about us .. They only care about their pockets .. When will we rest?”

Courtois, 29, came after his country's 1-2 defeat against Italy, in the match to determine the third and fourth places in the European Nations League.

And both teams resorted to resting a number of their players in the match, and Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard were absent from the Belgian team due to muscle problems.

Courtois played for 90 minutes in the match that Belgium lost to his French counterpart 2/3 in the semi-finals last Thursday, and he questioned the need for the Belgian team to play its Italian counterpart, as he feels that it is a meaningless match.

Courtois said: "This match is a game only for money and we have to be honest about it.

We are only playing it because it gives UEFA extra money.”

He added, "Look at the number of changes in both teams (in the lineup)... If the two teams were in the final, they would push other players into the lineup... This shows that we are playing a large number of matches."

And it is possible that the schedule of international competitions will witness more changes, as the French Arsene Wenger, head of the sports development system in FIFA, suggested holding the World Cup every two years instead of holding it every four years.

UEFA has made it clear that it opposes these plans, and Courtois has added his name to a growing list of opponents of the idea.
