A big fire in the home of the Zamalek player

The firefighting teams succeeded in putting out a huge fire that broke out in the house of the former Zamalek and national team player, Walid Salah Abdel Latif, which resulted in massive damage to two floors owned by the player in the multi-storey house, according to what close people and friends of the player told "Emirates Today".

Walid Salah Abdel Latif said that the losses he suffered were only material, and that no one was injured, at a time when the Mansoura Prosecution is conducting investigations into the causes of the fire to find out whether there was a quasi-criminal or not.

He added to "Sky News Arabia": "I was sleeping and woke up to a huge fire that consumed the building in which I live. The situation was very difficult at first. We did not know the causes of the fire, but it took over the entire property."

He continued: "We immediately informed the police and called the fire brigade, and three cars came to put out the fire. Those cars were not enough to put out the fire until other cars came until the fire was brought under control."

On the reasons that led to the fire in the property, Walid said: "I went to the attorney general at Mansoura Prosecution and the head of the investigation was with me and they took out the forensic evidence, and it turned out that the cause of the fire was initially due to a short circuit that led to the fire in the entire property."

Regarding his health, he said: "I had a minor injury to my foot, but I am fine. I thank God Almighty, and my family is fine. The fire caused significant damage to the property, not only to my house."
