Carolina Wikström ran under 2.30 with a margin of four seconds, when she finished in 2.29.56.

53 seconds after winning Anmut.

It's not just a real refinement of her previous times in the Stockholm marathon, where she previously ran at 2.43 as the best before.

But also the fastest race of a Swedish woman in the history of the competition.

Previously, Isabellah Andersson ran at 2.31.

- I am really pleased.

That was the goal of the day.

But I vomited immediately after the finish, says Carolina Wikström.

Wikström was never worse than four on the women's side in the race, but consolidated second place during the last mile.

- I felt strong and thought I set up the race quite well.

But I was very tired in the end.

Especially the last five kilometers.

But I had run quite well in the beginning, so I had a good feeling, says Carolina Wikström to TV4.

Norwegian Grete Waitz has the fastest women's time in the competition's history from 1988, when she ran in two hours, 28 minutes and 24 seconds.

This year's winner Atalel Anmut was thus 39 seconds from that time.
