Injury rules Neuer out of Germany national team

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer missed the training of the German national team on Saturday, as doubts swirl about his match against North Macedonia in the World Cup qualifiers.

Neuer, 35, missed the match in which Germany defeated his Romanian counterpart 2-1 in Hamburg on Friday evening, as a result of an injury to the adductor muscle.

The international goalkeeper was absent from machine training today, Saturday, and it has not yet been decided whether he can catch up with North Macedonia on Monday.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen participated in Neuer's place against Romania, and the Barcelona goalkeeper may participate again against North Macedonia if Neuer does not recover.

Bernd Leno was the only goalkeeper who participated in the German national team's training on Saturday, with Hamburg goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandez joining him.
