Doubts about Spain's striker Torres catching up in the Nations League final

Spain striker Ferran Torres is doubtful of the Nations League final against France on Sunday, but he will take a fitness test before the match at the San Siro.

"Everyone is ready except Ferran," Spain coach Luis Enrique told a news conference on Saturday.

Torres scored the two goals of Spain's 2-1 victory over Italy in the semi-final on Wednesday, but was injured in the second half after suffering a bruise in his right foot.

Enrique said, "We will not pressure him. If he is ready, he will play, and if not, he will not play, and one of the colleagues will participate in his place. We trust them and we will adapt to it."

Enrique said that the Manchester City striker will take part in the warm-up period before making the final decision on the starting lineup.

Torres is optimistic about his chances of playing.

"My feet are in good shape, I will try tomorrow, and we will see if I can play or not," Torres said.

Torres, 21, used to be a winger, but now plays as a striker after Spain lost attacking duo Alvaro Morata and Gerard Moreno to injury before the start of the Nations League finals.

"I am a winger and this is the best position to play in, but it is also good to be able to play as a striker," Torres said.
