A German team orders its unvaccinated players to pay for Corona tests

German football club Hertha Berlin announced Wednesday that it will ask its players and members of its technical staff who refuse to be vaccinated, to pay the fees for their "Covid-19" examinations in the future.

A club spokesperson told AFP that team members or technical staff who refuse to receive the coronavirus vaccine will soon have to pay for their own PCR test, which costs around 70 euros per test.

According to the rules of the German Football League, players must undergo a BCR test twice a week, but Hertha team tests its players and technical staff six times a week.

The club's sporting director, Freddy Bobic, told the German daily "Bild" that "90%" of the players and the technical staff had received the vaccination.

More than 82% of German Bundesliga players received vaccinations.

Hertha Berlin was subjected to quarantine twice this year due to the outbreak of the virus in its ranks.

Hertha Berlin had a disappointing start to the league, losing five of its first seven matches.
