In January 2020, Ada Hegerberg tore off her cruciate ligament and then also suffered a stress fracture in her tibia.

After a long rehab, the Norwegian star has been selected to Lyon's match squad for the first time in over 1.5 years.

- You can probably imagine that she is happy to be back in the squad, says Lyons coach Sonia Bompastor at Monday's press conference.

Bompastor, on the other hand, does not want to reveal what the plan for Hegerberg looks like ahead of the Champions League meeting with Häcken in Gothenburg.

- Everything is possible, we will see tomorrow (read today) and it depends on what happens in the match.

But she is in the squad and there are no question marks around her.

Teammate: "Very happy for her sake"

Goalkeeper Christiane Endler is happy to have Hegerberg back in the match squad.

- I am very happy for her sake, she has worked so hard to come back and to get in good shape.

Her mentality is huge and it is so good for the team that she is back, it makes us want to work harder.

She deserves to be back, Endler tells Sportbladet.

In 2018, Hegerberg, as the first woman, received the Ballon d 'Or as the world's best player and she has scored 144 goals in 117 matches in Lyon.

For Häcken, who is playing the Champions League for the first time, it will be the toughest possible start to the group game.

Lyon has won the tournament seven times, most recently in 2019/2020.
