The head of SvFF left his post this summer after it was discovered internally that the person had paid a contribution of more than half a million kronor to his own association.

But it was only after SVT's revelations in recent weeks that the federal board chose to report it to the police.

Now the police confirm that a preliminary investigation against the former boss has begun.

The title is infidelity to the principal.

The case is being investigated by the Stockholm Police's fraud section.

Internal criticism

Documents from SvFF that SVT has read about show how the name of the association was changed on several occasions and that it was subsequently transferred over more money.

The contributions that went to the manager's own association came from the project "Everyone is different - Different is good", whose purpose is to support equality in football.

The management was informed of the suspected cheating in mid-March, but then chose not to report it to the police.

According to several sources to SVT, this has created strong internal criticism and several employees have questioned why the management did not want to report to the police.
