In the 17th year of Hanshin Tigers, who has won 100 professional baseball games in total, pitcher Kenichi Nakata will retire from active duty only this season.

Pitcher Nakata is 39 years old from Fukuoka prefecture.

He joined Chunichi from the University of Kitakyushu in 2005, and in the third year he showed an activity of winning 14 wins with a sharp fastball as the starting lineup.

He transferred to Softbank in 2014 and won 11 wins that year, achieving a total of 100 wins in 2018.

Due to the rise of younger players, he only pitched in one game, and last season he joined the Hanshin Tigers in search of a pitching opportunity.

However, as the pitchers are rejuvenating, there has been no pitching in one army so far this season.

On the 28th, Nakata responded to an interview at Naruohama Stadium, the home of the 2nd army, saying, "I was told by other players that I would retire. I was happy to be in the profession and I was able to do my best, "he said.

Nakata will hold a retirement interview on the 29th.
