Kwon Soon-woo (82nd place, Dangjin City Hall) won the singles championship in the men's professional tennis (ATP) tour for the first time in 18 years as a Korean player.



Kwon Soon-woo defeated James Duckworth (65th, Australia) 2-0 (7 in 1 hour and 36 minutes) in the singles final on the last day of the ATP Tour Astana Open (total prize of $ 480,000) held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on the 26th (Korean time). -6<8-6> 6-3) defeated.



With this, Kwon Soon-woo became the first Korean player to win the ATP Tour singles title in 18 years and 8 months after Lee Hyung-taek (45, retired), who took the top spot at the Adidas International in January 2003.



The prize money for winning this competition is 47,80 dollars (about 55 million won).



Kwon Soon-woo, who received 250 winning ranking points, is expected to climb to 57th, his highest ranking ever.
