Rödklädda Piteå had owned much of the game and also led 1-0 when Vittsjö equalized on a penalty in the 78th minute.

A ball at depth was on its way to Nichole Persson in the home goal and midfielder Jennie Nordin kept an opponent behind her so that Persson could take care of the ball in peace and quiet.

But Nordin covered the ball too abruptly, according to the referee who blew a penalty to Vittsjö.

Nordin and other Piteå players gestured and expressed their dissatisfaction with the verdict but to no avail.

Safe punishment

Fernanda Da Silva, who previously played in Piteå, took care of the penalty that sat like a slap to the right of Persson in the goal.

The penalty was hit hard and despite Persson going in the right direction, she did not manage to reach the ball.

Otherwise, it was Piteå who created the most in the match introduction and also took the lead after a quarter of a game.

Sofia Wännerdahl unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.

The latter rushed forward in the box and pushed in 1-0 to Piteå.

In connection with the goal, Imo collided with Sabrina D´Angelo in Vittsjö's goal.

D´Angelo was given a chance to change things around.

Good position in the first half

Just minutes earlier, Piteå had had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock.

The home team switched after a Vittsjöhörna and the ball ended up with Katrina Guillou who ran free.

Guillou looked up and saw that D´Angelo stood far out and tested shots 25-30 meters.

But the hit was not clean and the ball slipped a bit outside the left post.

Today's 1-1 result means that Vittsjö climbs from seventh to sixth place.

Piteå remains in tenth place in the table.
