Växjö's early lead goal, signed by Pontus Holmberg, came in a sequence when the home team poured on too much in the attack zone in an otherwise very even first period.

- Very even, nice that we took the lead, goal scorer Holmberg told C More in the first period break.

Five minutes into the second period, Växjö's players were overplayed, which gave Adam Tambellini and Leon Bristedt an open street against the opponent's box.

The latter was last on the puck when Rögle equalized.

However, Växjö was seen as the strongest team in terms of play in the second period and also regained the lead when Olle Lycksell, delicately played by the 1-0 shooter Pontus Holmberg, outsmarted the guests' goalkeeper Christoffer Rifalk.

"Mixes and gives"

- We mix and give, it is important to step up, said Rögle's forward Mattias Sjögren in a break interview in C More.

Växjö's coach Sam Hallam said he was more pleased with the trend in the match.

- I think we are getting braver and braver in our attacking game, we are growing enormously after our 2-1 goal, Hallam told C More.

Swing decided

At the beginning of the third period, Växjö extended its lead through goals by Richard Gynge, in games five against four.

Rögle, who started the season's SHL game with two straight away victories, was suddenly on an uphill slope that looked increasingly difficult.

With eight minutes left to play in the third period, the visitors' defender Lucas Ekeståhl-Jonsson sent off a puck that passed Växjö's goalkeeper Janis Kalnins.

Rögle's reduction, to 2-3, led to dramatic final minutes of the match.

In the final stages of the match, Rögle picked out his goalkeeper, but Växjö managed to hold off to three points.
