The Korean women's handball team achieved 5 consecutive Asian championships.

Korea defeated Japan 33 to 24 in the final on the last day of the 18th Asian Women's Handball Championships held in Amman, Jordan on the 26th (Korean time).

With this, Korea has maintained its top position at the Asian Championships for the fifth consecutive time from 2012 to this year, reaffirming its position as the strongest in Asia.

This is the second time that the Korean women's handball team has won the Asian Championship five times in a row since the first championship in 1987 and eight consecutive championships in 2000.

Korea has won 15 of the 18 Asian Championships.

Korea, who led the first half 18-14, widened the score gap even into the second half, continuing their absolute advantage of 16 consecutive wins against Japan.

Korea has met Japan 16 times since the 2010 Asian Championships in a 22-22 draw, and won all 16 times.

In this year's Tokyo Olympics, Korea defeated Japan 27 to 24 in the group stage, and Korea's overall record in women's handball match against Korea and Japan is 28 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses.

Korea Republic's Jung Yu-ra (Daegu City Hall) scored 11 goals alone, and Kim Jin-i (Busan Facilities Corporation) also added 4 goals.

Also, goalkeeper Jeong Jin-hee (Korea National University) kept the goal with 8 saves and an ERA of 42.1%.

Korea climbed to the top of the tournament and obtained qualifications for the World Championships to be held in Spain in December of this year.

The top 5 countries in this competition will advance to this year's World Championships.

Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Uzbekistan will participate in the Spanish World Championships as Asian representatives.
