British player Danny Hodgson, a professional in the Australian football team, Perth - who fell into a coma more than two weeks ago after being attacked in the street - is receiving great support in Australia and also from the Manchester United team, led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United fans chanted Hodgson's name in the Newcastle match, and team star Ronaldo sent a video message of support to the player in which he invited him to attend a team match in Manchester after he recovered.

The Australian press reported that on September 4, the player was hit by one strong blow to the head of a 15-year-old boy, while walking in the street to his home after returning from celebrating his 26th birthday.

The severe blow resulted in a brain hemorrhage and a skull fracture.

Hodgson enjoys great support from everyone in the Australian city of Perth, and a Scottish traditional band plays in front of the hospital where he is being treated, coinciding with the arrival of his parents from England to check on him, as they were allowed to sit for half an hour in the intensive care room.
