Wolfgang Holzhauser, the former president of Bayer Leverkusen, has proposed a revolutionary amendment to the German Football League (Bundesliga), giving greater opportunities for the participating teams to compete with Bayern Munich and end its dominance in the competition.

Holzhauser believes that the attractiveness of the German League is affected when everyone knows the competition's champion since October every year.

In reference to the clear superiority of Bayern Munich, which won the title in the last 9 seasons.

The Bavarian club holds the record for winning the Bundesliga title with 31 titles, and its closest followers in this table are Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach, with 5 titles each.

Holzhauser believes that Bayern Munich may lose the title in one season due to injuries or emergency conditions for the team, but its dominance in the competition will not be affected in the coming years, and therefore a sports solution is necessary in light of the difficulty of finding economic alternatives that give other clubs the ability to compete with Bayern in the market Transfers and contracting with the best players.

He explained that the proposal includes confrontations to determine the winner of the league title between the teams that occupy the first four positions at the end of the season, including two semi-final matches (the first against the fourth and the second against the third) and then a final match.

Holzhauser expects his proposal to face opposition from some clubs, but he stressed that this mini-championship at the end of the season will provide additional income that can be used to support teams that are less competitive in economic terms.

Bayern Munich is currently at the top of the German League with 13 points after 5 rounds of the season.
