Ali Bujasim comments on the decision to use foreign referees.. "History records the union such and such."

The former World Cup referee in football, Ali Bujasim, revealed many negatives that will face the recently issued decision, using a foreign referee in the UAE league, noting that the international presence and representation of the country in international forums as referees will be affected very greatly, so that he doubts that the UAE will have a presence in major competitions, He said that the evidence for this is Saudi Arabia, which did not have a ruling to represent it in these years that passed after the help of foreign rulers, pointing out that he did not see any positive from the issuance of such a decision.

Bujasim, who previously served as the head of the referees committee in the Football Association, told "Emirates Today": "History, as it was recorded, was that the one who stopped the use of foreign rule was the federation that was headed by "such and such", as he put it without referring to the concerned federation, He added, "Now history records that the one who brought the foreign rule is the union "such and such" and then we review ourselves after several years to see the union that took a decision to ban the foreign rule, what did it gain for the UAE, first of which is that the UAE has not stopped participating in the World Cup since 1990 until today, Including once during the national team’s participation in the World Cup and all the remaining times through the referees, and he continued, “Will they bear the responsibility that the UAE will not have a presence in the World Cup in the coming years as a result of the use of foreign referees?”

These statements come as a reaction to the Football Association’s decision, which was taken on Wednesday night, to adopt a recommendation from the Referees Committee to use foreign referees to participate in the management of the matches of the President’s Cup and the ADNOC Professional League for the 2021-2022 sports season, starting from next October.

The Referees Committee was tasked with setting the mechanism, systems, and rules that will be implemented to attract foreign referees, provided that they are submitted to the Board of Directors for review, approval and action.
