This year's Lidingö Race Week is held over two weekends starting on Friday - with widely differing conditions.

The initial races, including the classic three-mile race on Saturday, are decided with audience and participant restrictions.

After September 29, the competitions will be held without corona restrictions.

- We see it as positive to be able to drive without restrictions during the second weekend and welcome the audience at the start and finish.

It is a plus because we have a children's race (October 3) and they have parents with them.

It would have been tougher to reach the finish line with restrictions, says Fredrik Montgomery, marketing and communications manager for the Lidingö race.

"We're back"

Around 15,000 runners are registered for a race during Lidingö week.

That is a halving of the pre-pandemic.

- I think we are largely a little burned by the fact that there were no races last year, that there were no races this spring and that there are other races that have had to cancel.

Then it is clear that you are thinking about how it will be this year and you are more hesitant to sign up, he says and continues:

- Therefore, it is incredibly important that we, Vätternrundan and Stockholm marathon can complete the races and show that we are back. It's about building trust in the industry in some way.
