Only 18 percent of the Swedish coaches at the Olympics in Tokyo were women, and the goal is for that figure to increase to at least 35-50 percent for the Olympics 2028 and 2030. Therefore, SOK is currently gathering for a female coaches meeting on Bosön outside Stockholm.

In a first step, the program includes 20 coaches from 13 Olympic summer sports.

The most well-known of the coaches is the former tennis professional Johanna Larsson.

- Why is it obvious that male leaders can coach women, while female leaders are rarely found in men's sports?

I think we have to break the norms around this, says Johanna Larsson to SVT Sport.

What would be the benefit of more women becoming coaches?

- I think it is good to have a range for all athletes.

For my own part, it was important with female role models, she can, so I can, says Johanna Larsson.

The participants in the project will gather regularly, to develop areas such as training planning, personal networks, psychology, rhetoric and sustainability.

- We want a long-term perspective in this project, and shed light on the issue of female coaches, says project manager Ulrika Sandmark.
