Donny van de Beek was eliminated from the League Cup with Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Dutchman finally had a base place at Old Trafford again, but lost 0-1 with his team to West Ham United.

The 24-year-old Van de Beek could not prevent his team from falling behind after seventeen minutes by a goal from Manuel Lanzini.

Manchester United failed to undo that goal and were thus ready in the League Cup after one game.

For Van de Beek it was the second time this season that he was given a starting place from manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Against West Ham, Solskjaer gave several regulars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, a rest.

Earlier this month, he was also allowed to appear at the kick-off in the Champions League match with Young Boys (1-2 loss).

Substitute Jürgen Locadia settled with Brighton 2-0 against Swansea City, which plays in the Championship.

The former youth international of Orange entered the field fifteen minutes before the end.

Leicester City reached the eighth finals of the cup tournament by beating Millwall 0-2.

Arsenal recorded a convincing win at Wimbledon, which plays two divisions lower: 3-0.

Alexandre Lacazette took care of the 1-0 after eleven minutes from a penalty.

In the final phase, 'The Gunners' ran further through goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.
